Fox Burrow is a restorative sanctuary designed as a long-term family home. The project transforms a substantial Victorian property by balancing its inherent architectural grandeur with contemporary comfort and refined functionality. The renovation honours heritage details while introducing thoughtful modern interventions tailored to the family’s lifestyle.

Drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophies, this London residence integrates the principles of shakkei (borrowed scenery) and in'ei raisan (the praise of shadows) to create a deeply sensory living experience. Our design team reimagined the ground floor layout, replacing a dark, enclosed breakfast room with a light-filled central space and installing premium herringbone timber flooring throughout to provide a sense of refined craftsmanship. The interior palette features a dramatic burgundy study—a bold expression of zhǔ cì (harmonious balance) against the soft, textured backdrop of Bauwerk limewash walls. By blending bespoke architectural lighting with natural materials, we have created a sophisticated urban retreat that harmonizes historic Victorian character with the quiet elegance of modern minimalism.
